Frequently Asked Questions
Key technical parameters, grit sizing standards, and export logistics for Black Silicon Carbide.
What are the primary industrial applications of Black Silicon Carbide?
Black Silicon Carbide features extreme hardness (Mohs 9.2), excellent thermal conductivity, and chemical inertness. It is widely utilized for grinding cast iron, non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminum), stone, glass, ceramics, wire sawing of semiconductor ingots, and bonded refractory kiln furniture.
What is the SiC purity and free carbon content?
Our first-grade Black SiC contains SiC ≥98.0% to 98.5%, with free carbon ≤0.25% and Fe2O3 ≤0.4%. We also supply metallurgical grade SiC (88%-90% SiC) for steelmaking deoxidation and foundry cupola charge.
Can you supply refractory grain sizes and fine ball-milled powders?
Yes. We supply refractory grain mixtures (0-1mm, 1-3mm, 3-5mm) and fine ball-milled powders (-200 mesh, -325 mesh) for ramming mixes, refractory castables, and high-temperature SiC plates.
