Smelting Precision & Grain Morphology Control

Industrial abrasive performance depends on crystal phase purity, bulk density (LPD), and zero oversize contamination. At our Gongyi smelting and sizing complex, every ton of White Fused Alumina (WFA) undergoes controlled fusion, impact shaping, and high-Gauss magnetic extraction.

CUSTOM GRADING CAPABILITY
Need specialized bulk density (high-LPD for vitrified wheels or sharp angularity for coated belts) or custom sieve cuts? Our plant engineers adjust crusher rotor RPM and sieve stacks to match your exact specification.
PROCESS 01 // LOW-SODIUM BAYER SMELTING Na2O ≤ 0.25%

Minimized Beta-Alumina Phase & High True Density

Excess sodium oxide (Na2O) forms soft beta-alumina (Na2O·11Al2O3), reducing hardness and refractory refractoriness. Our long-arc fusion process volatilizes excess alkali, achieving ≥99.5% alpha-Al2O3 purity and true density ≥3.95 g/cm³.

PROCESS 02 // COOL-CUTTING MICRO-FRIABILITY 2,150–2,200 HK

Self-Sharpening Cleavage for Heat-Sensitive Steels

Higher Knoop microhardness and controlled crystal friability allow WFA grains to micro-fracture under grinding pressure—continuously exposing fresh, razor-sharp cutting edges without burning hardened tool steels, gears, or aerospace alloys.

PROCESS 03 // IRON-FREE CERAMIC LINED MILLING Fe2O3 ≤ 0.03–0.05%

Zero Ferrous Contamination for Medical & Stainless Media

Processed through alumina-lined crushers and multi-stage magnetic separators to guarantee iron-free purity for stainless steel blasting, titanium medical implant texturing, and cleanroom wafer polishing.

Technical FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Key technical parameters, grit sizing standards, and export logistics for White fused alumina abrasive.

What is the chemical purity of Fengtai White Fused Alumina?

Our White Fused Alumina is electro-fused from high-grade Bayer process alumina in high-temperature arc furnaces. Typical Al2O3 content is ≥99.2% to 99.5%, with Na2O ≤0.3% and Fe2O3 ≤0.05%, guaranteeing ultra-low iron contamination on critical workpieces.

Why choose White Fused Alumina over Brown Fused Alumina for sandblasting?

White Fused Alumina is virtually iron-free, eliminating rust spots or ferrous cross-contamination on stainless steel, aluminum, brass, aerospace alloys, and medical implants. It is also slightly harder (Mohs 9.0) and self-sharpening during blasting.

What grit sizes are available for precision polishing and micro-finishing?

In addition to macro grits (F12 to F220), we produce high-precision micro powders from F240, F280, F320 up to F1200, as well as JIS #2000, #3000, #4000 with narrow particle distribution for optical glass, semiconductor, and technical ceramic lapping.

How is White Fused Alumina packaged for international sea freight?

Standard packaging is 25kg multi-layer PP/PE moisture-proof bags, packed 40 bags into a 1-ton jumbo bag, or palletized on fumigated ISPM-15 wooden pallets with waterproof shrink wrapping for safe oceanic transport.
