Smelting Precision & Grain Morphology Control

Industrial abrasive performance depends on crystal phase purity, bulk density (LPD), and zero oversize contamination. At our Gongyi smelting and sizing complex, every ton of Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) undergoes controlled fusion, impact shaping, and high-Gauss magnetic extraction.

CUSTOM GRADING CAPABILITY
Need specialized bulk density (high-LPD for vitrified wheels or sharp angularity for coated belts) or custom sieve cuts? Our plant engineers adjust crusher rotor RPM and sieve stacks to match your exact specification.
PROCESS 01 // TILTING FURNACE FUSION 2,250°C Electro-Fusion

Tilting Arc Furnace vs. Fixed Furnace Smelting

Unlike fixed-furnace ingots with uneven cooling fringes, our tilting electric arc furnaces pour molten alumina at 2,250°C into controlled cooling molds—yielding uniform alpha-Al2O3 crystal size, higher fracture toughness, and consistent TiO2 solid-solution levels.

PROCESS 02 // BARMAC IMPACT SHAPING LPD 1.52–1.85 g/cm³

Controlled Blocky & Angular Grain Geometry

Primary ingots are crushed via jaw/roller mills and shaped in Barmac vertical-shaft impactors (VSI). We tailor bulk density (LPD) to your application: high-density blocky grains for vitrified/resinoid wheels, or sharp angular grains for coated abrasive belts.

PROCESS 03 // HIGH-GAUSS DEMAGNETIZATION Fe2O3 ≤ 0.15%

Dual-Stage 12,000-Gauss Magnetic Extraction

Every grit fraction passes through dual rare-earth permanent magnetic separators to strip ferrosilicon and free iron below 0.015%, preventing brown spots or firing blisters in ceramic-bonded grinding wheels and refractory bricks.

Technical FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Key technical parameters, grit sizing standards, and export logistics for Brown fused alumina abrasive.

What is the difference between Tilting Furnace and Fixed Furnace Brown Fused Alumina?

Tilting furnace (倾倒炉) BFA offers higher Al2O3 purity (≥95%), lower magnetic material content, and superior crystal toughness, making it the preferred choice for precision bonded abrasives (vitrified and resinoid wheels) and high-temperature refractory castables. Fixed furnace (固定炉) BFA offers high bulk toughness and economical pricing for heavy-duty sandblasting and surface preparation.

What grit size standards do you provide for Brown Fused Alumina?

We screen grains strictly according to international standards: FEPA 42-1:2006 (F4 to F220 for bonded abrasives and blasting, P12 to P220 for coated sandpaper), JIS R6001, and ANSI B74.12. We also supply custom refractory section sizes (0-1mm, 1-3mm, 3-5mm, 5-8mm, 200 mesh, 325 mesh).

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and delivery lead time?

Our standard commercial MOQ is 1 metric ton (1000kg). For testing, we provide free 1kg to 5kg trial samples (express courier freight collected). Standard full container orders (20-25 MT) ship from our Gongyi factory within 7 to 10 working days.

Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with each batch?

Yes. Every production batch undergoes strict laboratory inspection including XRF chemical composition analysis, bulk density testing, and laser particle size distribution analysis. A certified COA and MSDS/SDS document accompany every export shipment.
